Create media plan in Quick Flighting Module
Brand Central’s Quick Flighting module is available from the following menu:
- Login to Brand Central
- Navigate to Media Planning module
- Select an existing campaign that you would like to edit in Quick Flighting mode
- Press “Quick Flighting Module” button in sub-navigation

Every campaign consists of multiple flights that are treated as a unique combination of a creative ad format (size, language, execution) and its placement on a publisher network (publisher, section, ad format and relevant position).

Flight Fields
The following data describes a single flight:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Status | Status of the flight inherited by its parent item. |
| Publisher | Name of publisher which can be narrowed down through the geographic region field. If not found in the correct region, use full text search on Brand Central dashboard to check if publisher is already part of Brand Central network. |
| Placement | Sub section of the publisher which can be a website section, email channel, mobile sms gateway or any other sub channel which is used for reporting and trafficing purpose. |
| Language | Predefined language of the creative, used for reporting. Please note that once a creative is linked to a flight, the language field is locked and can only be edited once the creative is unlinked from the flight. |
| Visual | Media planners can enter any name for the creative which will help distinguishing flights in creative and reporting module. Once creative is linked, the system overwrites the flight visual name with the actual name of the creative. |
| Ad Unit | Select any of the IAB or other ad units which will automatically determine width and height of the flight creative. If either width or height is modified, the ad format will be changed to individual. The file format (SWF, HTM, TXT, …) needs to be selected prior uploading and linking creative as it will restrict the file settings for the creative agency on that flight. Please note that once a creative is linked to a flight, the ad unit field is locked and can only be edited once the creative is unlinked from the flight as it determines and overwrites the ad unit width, height and file format. |
| Start Date | Start date of the flight, inherited from the campaign parent data set or most recently added flight |
| End Date | End date of the flight, inherited from the campaign parent data set or most recently added flight |
| Volume | The flight volume can be specified in CPM , CPC , CPD and CPA.The actual volume and metrix will be used for all financial calculations and reporting within Brand Central and should only be modified by media planners. |
| Estimated Impressions | The estimated impressions acts as a capping field for total impressions to be delivered on this flight. If the total number of impressions has been delivered, the system will change the flight status to complete and notify agencies, clients and publishers accordingly. |
| Brand Central Fee | The adserving fee for the use of Brand Central (which is agreed on contractual base between the agency and Brand Central Software Ltd.) can be changed on flight level in order to allow click-based tracking and other methods of remuneration. |
| Card Rate | The public card rate in US$ per volume metrix for the ad unit of this flight, inherited from the default publisher data. Can be overwritten only on flight level and not on publisher’s rate card which is only accessible to publishers. The card rate is used on media plans to show case savings from media negotiations |
| Negotiated Rate | Agency or client negotiated net rate in US$ for the volume metrix for the ad unit of this flight. The media discount in % applies as deduction from the net rate after which media commission is added to achieve a total gross value. |

Brand Central requires a lot of data input on flight level in order to both generate detailed reports but also enhance functionality in terms of optimization and notification on flight level. However, when creating new flights, most of the data can be inherited from campaign level although it is flexible and can be modified and overwritten at any time both ways.
Quick Flighting Mouse Actions

The following actions can be triggered from Quick Flighting Module after one ore more flights have been marked using the checkboxes in front of each flight:
| Icon | Action | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Add Flight | Insert a new flight into the media plan. All required fields need to be entered and after publisher selection, the new saved flight will be automatically grouped into the publisher’s section of the media plan. New flights inherit all relevant data from the parent campaign. Once a flight has been saved (after add or edit), the next flight will by default show the previous flight data assuming that similiar flights will be added, which reduces the data entry effort to create a new media plan significantly. | |
| Edit Flight | Modify an existing flight and change the values of all fields described above. A quicker way to edit a flight is to click on the flight status icon which will edit the flight of the selected row. | |
| Delete Flight | Delete the selected flight(s) after confirmation message. Flights that have creative linked to them need to be unlinked before deletion. If a flight has recorded any tracking data (impressions, clicks, post-clicks, …) already, the flight cannot be deleted from the system. | |
| Bundle Flights | Use the ‘Add to flight bundle button’ Icon new flight bundle . Please note that you need to have at least one flight selected, and you cannot add flights from multiple publishers or different creative to a new bundle. If you would like to add more flights to the same bundle, mark at least one flight from the existing bundle and others and then follow the same procedure. New flights in the bundle are marked with a color automatically. | |
| Un-bundle Flights | You can delete flights from an existing bundle by marking at least one flight from a bundle and the pressing the ‘Flight Bundle Delete’ button Bundle delete. Please note that currently running flights of the campaign might be effected if the publisher is not informed about that change immedately. | |
| Plan Statistics | Statistics of media plan by publisher, creative and channel in total volume and financial data per volume metrix e.g. CPM, CPC, …. | |
| Export Mediaplan to Excel | Create a Microsoft Excel (2003) document with the full media plan, rationale and sample statistics data. Media plan has full sets of formulas build in. |
Media plans do not need to be saved individually, every flight triggers an automatic update of all data throughout the system.
